Parents of all babies involved stay fully up-to-date, police say

On Tuesday, police said the parents of all the babies involved were keeping fully up-to-date on the developments and had the support of officers.

Detectives launched an investigation into infant deaths at the hospital in May 2017, initially looking at the deaths of 15 infants between June 2015 and June 2016.

The investigation was later expanded to the deaths of 17 babies and 16 non-fatal collapses between March 2015 and July 2016.

Ms. Letby worked in the unit as a nursing student for three years of training before qualifying as an infant nurse at the University of Chester in 2011. She said she began working in the unit after graduation.
