A drunk driver who tried to escape from police at 90 mph crashed into a house and then fought an officer.
CCTV footage captured 43-year-old Steven Larkin looking agitated as he sat behind the wheel of a silver Jaguar on Edge Lane.
Larkin, who has 42 prior convictions for a staggering 110 crimes, sped up when he saw police approaching at noon.
A judge said he could have struck and killed a bicyclist before crashing into the front wall of a Wavertree townhouse.
PC Gavin Dick’s body camera footage later recorded the pair “fighting” on the ground as Larkin attacked him to try to escape.
Larkin, of Pluckington Road, Huyton, was driving into Liverpool, around 12:10 pm, on Sunday February 3 last year.
Liverpool Crown Court heard PC Dick stop a car behind Larkin’s, but then saw the Jaguar speed up.
Larkin stopped in front of other vehicles and turned left onto Rathbone Road, where a bicyclist was crossing the street.
Nardeen Nemat, the accuser, said the victim left her bicycle and ran towards the central reserve to avoid being hit.
PC Dick hit 70 mph in the 30 mph zone, but was not beating Larkin, who was driving on the wrong side of the road and over a roundabout, when the officer reached 83 mph, but was not yet catching up. day.
He saw large plumes of smoke coming from the Jaguar and considered abandoning the chase for the safety of the public.
Larkin made a sharp left onto Mindale Road and collided with the house, before PC Dick chased him on foot to Southdale Road.
He pushed Larkin to stop him and they both fell to the ground, where they “began to struggle,” and Larkin tried to roll the officer onto his back.
Ms. Nemat said: “He started fighting with the officer and hit the glasses off PC Dick’s face.”
The officer managed to activate his alarm and call for backup, but Larkin detached his radio from his uniform.
He eventually beat Larkin, who was rushed to the hospital with a shoulder injury and found to have 131 mg of benzoylecgonine per liter of blood, almost three times the legal limit for cocaine.
PC Dick was treated for a cut on his left knee and bruises and scratches on both arms and legs.
The owner said his wall had to be rebuilt and painted, which was covered by insurance, in excess of £ 100.
Larkin, who gave an interview without comment, admitted to dangerous driving and assaulting an emergency worker, but did not attend court for sentencing on July 10.

When he was arrested, he pleaded guilty to breach of bail and also robbery, related to another crime on June 23.
He was caught trying to drop off an Asda in Utoxeter, Staffordshire without paying £ 774 worth of groceries in a cart.
His criminal history includes driving under the influence of alcohol in 1997, driving while disqualified in 1998, and two assaults in 2018.
Larkin, whose girlfriend attended court to support him, was last convicted of possession of a Class A drug in March 2019.
Gary Lawrenson, an advocate, said his client could have been saved from jail, but “obviously events have gotten over him,” which was a “shameful” as he wanted to get help and stay drug free.
Lawrenson said: “His record clearly shows that he is a man with a long history of drug abuse and mental health problems.”

He said Larkin previously tried to kill himself, adding: “He jumped off a bridge in 2013, he shattered, but he survived.”
The lawyer said Larkin and his girlfriend had slept poorly since skipping court, because no one was prepared to accept them together.
Lawrenson said: “He really didn’t want to part with her and that’s why they ran away, so to speak.”

He added: “He’s clearly a hideous shoplifter; the security guard noticed him because in the middle of a heat wave in July, when everyone was wearing shorts, he was wearing a large wool hat and a wool sweater.”
Judge Louise Brandon said Larkin had a “horrifying” list of previous convictions and that it would take “a really long time to go through them all.”
She said: “They show that there is little in terms of criminality that has not been targeted.”
The judge said CCTV footage revealed “really shocking driving.”
She said, “Every time I see that recording, I’m surprised you didn’t hit that rider.”
Judge Brandon said that instead of stopping and checking that the bicyclist was okay, who was “very lucky not to be seriously injured or worse,” sped up and crashed into a house.

The judge added: “The fact that you did not kill or seriously injure someone during that chase is an act of pure good luck. It is certainly not due to anything you did.”
Judge Brandon said Larkin claimed he fought the officer because of the injuries he sustained in the accident, but that his “primary motivation” was to try to escape.
She jailed him for 19 months and banned him from circulation for 27 months.
