Death of Five More Devon Hospital Patients Who Tested Positive for Covid Confirmed

There have been five more deaths from patients in Devon hospitals testing positive for coronavirus, the latest figures from the NHS England confirm.

One patient died at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and four patients died at Torbay Hospital this week, after testing positive for Covid-19.

At Torbay Hospital, one patient died on Friday, November 6, two patients died on Saturday, November 7, and another on Sunday, November 8, the latest data show.

Meanwhile, at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, a patient died on Saturday, November 7.

Across all hospitals in England, there have been 34,963 deaths, reports NHS England.

An update from NHS England, released today (Tuesday 10 November), reads: “Another 300 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals in England to 34,963.

“The patients were between 35 and 100 years old. All but eight (ages 66 to 99) had known underlying health conditions.

“The date of death is from September 28 to November 9, 2020 with most being November 6 or later.

“Their families have been informed.”
