While many world leaders were quick to congratulate Joe Biden on his victory in the US election, others do not seem so pleased.
Several prominent figures who have maintained warm relations with the president Donald trump have remained remarkably silent after the historic victory of the Democrat alongside his running mate Kamala harris.
Sky News highlights some of the most notable leaders who have yet to offer their good wishes to America’s next top leadership team.

Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil
President Jair bolsonaro from BrazilNicknamed “Trump of the Tropics” for his shared gruff style, he has been a close ally and friend of the American leader.
Bolsonaro even pointed to Mr biden following the first televised debate in the presidential race after the former vice president said Trump needed to pressure Brazil to do more to protect the Amazon.
The Brazilian leader called Biden’s statement “disastrous.”
But Bolsonaro is said to be distancing himself from Trump after the election result, apparently saying he is “not the most important person in the world,” according to The Washington Post.
“The most important person is God,” Bolsonaro said, as quoted.
Vladimir Putin, Russia
Nor has there been an immediate reaction from the Russian president. Vladimir Putin, who was a friend of Trump.
He got into Trump’s impeachment last year, defending the president and describing the situation as “implausible” and “fabricated.”
Trump sparked outrage on both sides of the political dip in Washington after his first summit with Putin.
The president of the United States was accused of “treasonous” behavior during a 2018 press conference with his Russian counterpart in Finland, in which he contradicted his own intelligence officials about Moscow’s alleged meddling in the elections that put him in the White House.
Kim Jong Un, North Korea
Nothing has been heard from the North Korean leader since elections for Biden were called.
Donald Trump and Kim met on three different occasions and were said to have exchanged almost 30 letters for the past four years.
Despite the summits, there have been few moves by North Korea to reduce its nuclear weapons program.
And, on the other hand, the United States has not lifted key economic sanctions against the prison regime.
The North Korean dictatorship did not get along with Barack Obama, at one point making racist comments about Joe Biden’s ex-boss.
Last year, Biden called Kim “a killer dog.” The North Korean leader responded that Biden was a “mad dog” who should be “beaten to death with a stick.”
Janez Jansa, Slovenia
In the homeland of first lady Melania Trump, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa congratulated Trump on a victory before all the votes were counted.
He continued to show his support even though Biden was announced as the winner.
However, other leaders who have openly supported Trump during his tenure have not adopted the same attitude.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose Twitter profile photo shows him sitting next to Trump, congratulated Biden and described him as a friend of Israel.
He added that he was eager to work with him and Ms. Harris to strengthen the “special alliance” between the two countries.
In a separate statement, he thanked Trump for elevating relations between the United States and Israel to “unprecedented heights.”
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, another Trump ally, shared a statement praising Mr bidenrunning mate and vice president elect Mrs. Harris about his “landmark achievement.”
He added: “The United States is our most important ally and I look forward to working closely on our shared priorities, from climate change to trade and security.”
And Saudi Arabian leaders also congratulated Biden, although it took a while.
On Sunday, more than 24 hours after the race was called, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the crown prince congratulated the president-elect and the vice-president-elect, according to the state news agency SPA.
The crown prince enjoyed a warm relationship with Trump, who offered his endorsement following the murder of the Saudi journalist. Jamal khashoggi.
Khashoggi, a staunch critic of the Saudi rulers, was assassinated inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October 2018, while entering to obtain documents so he could marry his Turkish fiancee.
As worldwide suspicion fell upon Saudi Arabia, Trump said the US would not financially punish the kingdom.
