Shocking clip shows fireworks yards from Edinburgh houses as Bonfire Night chaos continues

The Bonfire Night chaos continues to affect parts of Edinburgh tonight with residents reporting incidents.

A locals shared a shocking clip showing fireworks dangerously close to homes in Muirhouse.

She said Edinburgh Live it had been going on for about an hour tonight, since before 7pm, at Muirhouse Court.

Fireworks were going off on the road where there are less than ten meters between the houses, the resident said.

It is understood that the officers were heading to the scene in two police vans.

It comes as emergency services were faced with a wave of “serious incidents” on the night of the bonfire yesterday.

Officers and firefighters were attacked with fireworks and other objects were thrown at them, and cars and houses were also attacked.

Firefighters in Midlothian recounted how they were forced to dodge a “missile attack” while on duty.

The aftermath of Bonfire Night was also visible around Edinburgh this morning, with locals waking up to a series of irresponsible and “reckless” behaviors.

Meanwhile, locals in Motherwell alleged that a missing firework started a large house fire.

Local MSP Clare Adamson said: “Devastated by families affected by the fire in the houses in Motherwell caused by fireworks, enough is enough, the human cost of misuse is too high, we need more regulations.”

Scotland’s police have said investigations are ongoing after last night as part of Operation Moonbeam, which also saw scattering areas across the capital on Bonfire Night.
