60-year-old woman rushed to hospital after being hit by car

A woman in her 60s was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car this afternoon.

Police said they were called just before 1:00 pm after reports that a blue Vauxhall Corsa had struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Green Lane and Prescot Road, Old Swan.

The woman, who is said to be 60 years old, suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The injury is not believed to be life threatening.

The driver stopped at the scene to assist the police with their investigations.

INRIX travel monitors said A57 Prescot Road remains partially blocked, with traffic lining up due to the accident near Asda on Green Lane.
