The Prime Minister has urged the Scots to ‘play by the rules’ as a five-tier lockdown system went into effect across the country at 6am on Monday.
Local lockdowns range from level zero to level four, with restrictions at the highest level as close to a full lockdown as the one the country experienced in March.
Each area of local authority has been assigned a level, with most councils placed at a level three lock.
The Scottish government has launched a postal code checker so that people can confirm the level at which the area they live in has been placed.
Nicola Sturgeon warned that it was essential for the Scots to follow the rules of their local area to prevent the entire country from entering a total lockdown again.
She said: “It is important that we all abide by the rules in our area if we are to successfully suppress the virus, avoid the need for more stringent restrictions and protect the NHS.”
Another 951 Scots tested positive in the past 24 hours, but no new deaths were recorded.
