‘This site was seized’: Trump campaign website hacked | US News

Donald Trump’s campaign website has been hacked.

The “About” page of the website was briefly replaced by a message that read: “the world has grown tired of the fake news spread (sic) daily by President Donald J. Trump.”

It appeared to be an unsophisticated scam aimed at collecting cryptocurrencies.

There was no clue to the identity of the hackers. The message spoke of access to “Trump and relatives” and “classified information” that “trump-gov is involved in the origin of the corona virus.”

There was no immediate verification of the veracity of the message and, indeed, no obvious concerns in the Trump campaign.

In a statement posted on the Trump campaign website, communications director Tim Murtaugh said: “Earlier tonight, the Trump campaign website was defaced and we are working with law enforcement authorities to investigate the origin. of the attack.

“There was no exposure to sensitive data because none of it is actually stored on the site. The website has been restored.”
