Arsenal legend Ian Wright fears his former club could unravel against Manchester United next week after their struggles against Leicester City on Sunday night.
The Gunners were defeated 1-0 by the Foxes at the Emirates after Jamie Vardy scored late in the second half.
Mikel Arteta’s team controlled the game in the first half, but struggled to find a first match and Leicester slowly entered the match, particularly once Vardy was introduced from the bench.
The Spaniard criticized the fact that his team failed to make their dominance pay off in the first 45 minutes and Wright believes United’s fast front row could make Arsenal pay if they can’t find a way to “attack.”
“You also look at Manchester United, which is another team that will want to play at halftime,” Wright said after Arsenal’s defeat.
‘You’re going to need to be able to get through them, to be able to break them down. Manchester United will do the same [as Leicester] and they have even better players in the future, more than just Vardy.
“It’s tough, we knew Leicester was going to be tough and we know Manchester United is going to be tough.
“Arsenal will have to work hard and find a way to get results without scoring the perfect goal.”
Later in the show, Wright added to his comments on Premier League Productions: ‘With the counterattack, you look at Arsenal and you can see what happened to Vardy there tonight. Rashford could get us in trouble.
Arsenal’s loss means they have just nine points from their first six games, while United have also struggled, accumulating just seven points from their five games.
The Gunners fear they will be without David Luiz for the trip to Old Trafford after the Brazilian was sent off in the second half against Leicester for an alleged thigh strain.
