Kemar Roofe scored the goal of the night in the Europa League, when Rangers opened the group stage with a 2-0 win over Standard Liege.

The Rangers were already 1-0 and headed for three points Thursday night when Roofe stopped a final attack from the home side, midway inside the Gers half.

Roofe, who previously played in Belgium with Anderlecht, fought his way through three defenses before shooting just behind the midline.

The ball tumbled high in the air and directly over the Liège goalkeeper, who was off his line and could do no more than make a failed attempt to stop the brilliant goal.

It was such a good goal even the WWE Champion, and Rangers fan Drew McIntyre was blown away by the hit, and he wasn’t the only one.

Rangers had a decent time in the Europa League last season, with Steven Gerrard’s team reaching the round of 16 before losing to Bayer Leverkusen, and this season they have already made it through three qualifying rounds.

They beat Galatasaray in a single match to advance to the group stage where they will face Benfica and Lech Poznan, as well as the second leg against Liege.

The result continues their strong start to the season, with the Glasgow team undefeated in the league after beating rivals Celtic in the Old Firm game last week.
