Ruben Dias criticized his Manchester City teammates for their Champions League defense against Porto.
City beat Porto 3-1 but fell behind when Luis Díaz collected the ball on the left side after Dias conceded possession around the midline. Then, Diaz de Porto advanced to the right side of City’s area, dodging three challenges and producing a good shot at Ederson.
New City signing Dias was one of five defenders removed from the game by Diaz’s career, and the former Benfica center-back had some stern words to say after the game.
“We cannot concede a goal like that,” Dias told BT Sport. “Someone must stop it and we must regroup in a better way, but football is about mistakes and learning from them. The teams that learn the best are the teams that grow the best.”

Reflecting on overall performance, however, Dias was able to provide a more positive assessment of the game as a whole, which did not see City overly concerned at the rear.
“I’m happy, we put in a good performance and obviously we won at home,” said Dias. “It is the first step of many to come. We are happy and we are growing as a team and we continue working.”
Dias is one of three Portuguese players on the City squad, newcomer from Benfica. Bernardo Silva, who started his career at Benfica, took to Twitter after the game and simply posted: “This one felt so good!”
