Dietmar Hamann has warned Liverpool that Jurgen Klopp will be “lying on the beach or will be the coach of the German team” in 2025.

The former Reds midfielder says Klopp has become a “living legend” at Anfield and it’s hard to disagree.

The German manager guided Liverpool to their first top flight title in 30 years last season, sweeping the competition in his path.

The season before Klopp’s team won the Champions League and has helped make the club one of the best teams in the world.

After arriving in October 2015, the 53-year-old had shown enough progression to win a new six-year contract in July 2016. He then extended it further in December 2019 until 2024.

However, Hamann acknowledges that Klopp is unlikely to remain at the club in 2025.

“It is amazing that Jürgen Klopp has already been a Liverpool manager for five years,” said Hamann. SportBILD (via Sport Witness).

“But when you are successful, time passes faster.

“Since the Champions League victory against Tottenham in 2019 and Liverpool’s first title this summer after 30 years, this manager is a living legend.

“I wish Liverpool were still the manager in 2025.

“But either Klopp will be lying on the beach or he will be the coach of the German team.”

Hamann also claims that it may well have had something to do with Klopp’s arrival at Anfield.

“He was a good and experienced coach at the time. Today he is the best coach in the world ”, he added.

“I remember late summer 2015 when I was traveling with the team as an ambassador for Liverpool.

“Then-coach Brendan Rodgers (47) was under a lot of pressure. I went to current CEO Billy Hogan, who was still Chief Commercial Officer at the time, and threw Jürgen Klopp’s name into the ring.

“I said that Liverpool needed Klopp, that he understood the club and the city. I loved his successes with Dortmund.

“Of course, I cannot judge whether my recommendation contributed in part to Klopp’s commitment. When Klopp introduced himself as ‘The Normal’ in October, I knew Liverpool was a good idea. “

“It is not a position where you turn too much. If someone tells us we are making a mistake now … I think Carragher has. “

Klopp also confirmed that Joel Matip has been added to the disabled list and will miss the match in the Netherlands.

The defender suffered a muscle injury in the Merseyside derby draw.

Klopp added: “Yeah, it sure isn’t perfect. Joel Matip is not here, but that is our situation and we will solve it.

“We are still a bit sensitive to the situation and therefore we are in a different mood than yours. We have known since yesterday that the best CB in the world is not with us.

“It was clear from his track record that he would not start again after 90 minutes against Everton. But there is a good chance that he will participate on the weekend. “
