Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy starts tonight against Sevilla after training before the Champions League group tie.
The goalkeeper has recovered from a thigh injury and replaces attacker Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The news comes as Frank Lampard left little doubt about where he thinks Chelsea’s defensive woes lie.
He defended his team’s record at the rear after Saturday’s collapse at Southampton. The 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge means Chelsea have conceded 63 goals in their 43 matches in charge.
He said: “I’m aware of the statistics and the other statistic is that since I’ve been here, we’ve conceded the second fewest shots in the Premier League, I think behind Manchester City.
“Sometimes it helps to reduce some of the problems. The problem is that we don’t concede many shots to our goal, but when we do, we concede goals.
“It’s something we are all aware of when we look at recruiting, and more importantly what one is aware of when working with players on the field.
“We don’t grant many chances, but the chances we do grant, we let too much in. It’s something we specifically work on. “
Chelsea predicted that XI will face Sevilla (4-2-3-1): Mendy; Azpilicueta, Silva, Zouma, Chilwell; Jorginho, Kante; Pulisic, Mount Havertz; Werner
