Three more people have died in Wales after testing positive for coronavirus and nearly 1,000 new positive cases have been recorded.

The latest figures from Public Health Wales (PHW) for Sunday October 18 show that there have been 950 positive cases in the last 24 hours and three people have died, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,711.

The figures come after a leaked letter showed plans for a two-week circuit breaker due to start in Wales on Friday.

That means the lock would be in effect for 17 days.

Health Minister Vaughan Gething said no final decision has been made, but the discussion is ongoing and ministers will meet on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning to discuss the way forward.
