Pep Guardiola has defended Manchester City forward Sergio Agüero after he was criticized for grabbing assistant referee Sian Massey-Ellis’ shoulder.

However, Aguero was criticized on social media, and his former teammate Micah Richards told Sky Sports that the forward should “know better.”
The rules introduced in 2016 mean that players can be cautioned or sent off if they touch match officials, depending on the nature of the incident, but did not receive any kind of punishment.
