Mind taken after Thiago’s exploits at Melwood
Paul Gorst:So how are Liverpool going to correct the mistakes of that heartbreaking night at Villa Park?
Well, good news abounds.
Thiago Alcantara, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip are back in action and could participate.
No Alisson Becker remains a concern, so that means Adrian starts in goal behind a four from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Matip, who I’ll bring in for Gomez in center defense.
In midfield, he was torn. All week I thought this game might come too early for Thiago, but now, after seeing the Spaniard pinging passes around Melwood, he’s in. Jordan Henderson and James Milner, who also have the full benefit of starting a week of training.
Above, it is the traditional look of the three forwards, even if Roberto Firmino can only offer an hour after his trip to Peru with Brazil.
My team (4-3-3): Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Milner, Henderson, Thiago; Bad, Mane, Firmino.

Midfield can have a full review
Ian Doyle: For every Liverpool (and Everton) fan worth their salt, there is a day they expect more than most others on the Premier League calendar.
That’s the day after the derby because, well, it’s as far from the next one as possible.
Nobody enjoys them.
But, like any game, it’s about winning those three points. And after what happened at Villa Park, Jurgen Klopp would be forgiven for making 12 changes (the additional one just to be absolutely sure).
Instead, there is scope for some realistic modifications.
Adrian is in goal. If you don’t like that, hard.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson didn’t appear in every game during the international period, so they’ll be fresh enough in full-back roles, while Virgil van Dijk is as tough as ever.
However, with whom to accompany the Dutch?
Joe Gómez struggled a lot at Villa while Fabinho was not much better. So enters Joel Matip, who has been training at Melwood this week.
The midfield can have a full review. Jordan Henderson is back, joined by James Milner and Thiago Alcantara.
And, continuing the theme of trusting those who have been working at Melwood all week, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane start out front.
However, Mane may go down the middle with Diogo Jota in left form against his childhood club.
My team (4-3-3): Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Thiago, Milner; Bad, Mane, Jota.
Changes are needed
Joe Rimmer: Aston Villa still hurts.
So what is the best way to correct it?
They beat Everton in their safest moment.
And to do that, I would like to see Liverpool go back to 4-2-3-1.
But changes are needed.
Adrian has to continue in goal, but I would bring Joel Matip back to center alongside Virgil van Dijk. That means Joe Gomez leads the way.
Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson make a delightful pair in the midfield pair, with Fabinho rested after his travels.
Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino are my three behind Mohamed Salah above.
Jota will have to play to the right of those three, but I imagine he and Mane will have the freedom to switch.
My team (4-2-3-1): Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson: Thiago, Henderson; Jota, Firmino, Mane; Incorrect
Shaking Villa and knocking Everton out of first place makes the derby more important
Peter Harris: Bounce back immediately after one of the worst losses in recent memory, dust off the cobwebs of an internional breakup ahead of the Champions League, and remind Everton who the champions are as they sit in first place.
Jurgen Klopp could pick up any reason why this Merseyside derby has an air of greater importance, especially compared to the 0-0 failure last time at Goodison Park.
Adrián starts off, everyone knows that and why, but there could also be a handful of changes from Villa’s terrible performance.
Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara returned to training at Melwood just in time and should be eager to start. Also, Mohamed Salah remained in Merseyside during the break and is one of the first on the roster.
* How would you line up against Everton? Express your opinion in the comment section.
Jordan Henderson played a small role while on duty in England and so he should be able to get the armband back in the middle and make sure it’s a performance Reds fans are much more used to from the Jurgen side. Klopp.
Joel Matip replaces Joe Gomez, while Fabinho retains his place while Wijnaldum is lost.
A formation adjustment could help combat Everton’s improved midfield, while Roberto Firmino in a 10th position could allow Mane and Salah in central positions to gain more fortune against the Blues’ central defenders rather than their impressive full-backs. .
My team (4-3-1-2): Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Thiago, Fabinho, Firmino, Salah, Mane
