Amazon has kicked off its annual Prime Day sale, with discounts on thousands of lines, as it seeks to cash in on bargain-hungry Brits.

The shopping event, which launches Tuesday, offers big savings and free delivery for its most loyal customers.

This year, the ‘sale’ will last 48 hours and members will be able to access discounts on a variety of products.

Expect to see thousands of deals, with deep discounts on Amazon Alexa-enabled devices.

There will also be flash deals, where you can get a bargain on certain products for a limited time only.

The online retail giant said savers can get up to 50% off items, with discounts on televisions, kindles and smart home devices.

But smart spenders can unlock an additional 20% savings by shopping in the right place.

It all has to do with Amazon Warehouse, which offers additional discounts in stores throughout the year.

Prime Day was the largest shopping event in Amazon history last year, with more than 1 million toys, technology and games sold in 24 hours.

Right now, it’s offering an additional 20% discount for Prime Day, which means you can get an additional discount on already reduced items.

But to take advantage of the offers, you’ll need to become a Prime member, which costs £ 79 a year.

However, this year it begins on October 13 and will last 48 hours.

An Amazon spokesperson said this year’s Prime Day would see its “biggest promotion for small businesses.”
