Armed police have arrived at St Thomas Hospital in London after a “security alert”.
Patients and staff are being evacuated from the site and no one is allowed in, according to eyewitnesses.
Westminster Bridge and Lambeth Palace Road are closed, according to BBC Radio London Travel.
One person tweeted: “Something is happening at St. Thomas Hospital. My partner who works in the heart area has been evacuated upstairs, does anyone know what is going on? No one is allowed in and out of the hospital.”
Another said: “What is happening in the St. Thomas hospital, there are armed police and what looked like a lockdown.”
A Twitter user added: “The Metropolitan Police have been blocking access to St Thomas Hospital and adjacent roads. There are disruptions to buses and traffic.”

Lambeth police tweeted: “Police are dealing with a security alert at St Thomas Hospital, SE1. We will provide more information when it becomes known.”
BBC Radio London Travel tweeted: “Westminster Bridge is currently closed by police, there appears to be a cordon near St. Thomas Hospital as well.”
