The CRUNCH talks will continue today as leaders from across Lancashire meet with the Government to discuss moving the county to level three of the Prime Minister’s new lockdown system.
On Monday, the entire county fell below level two following an official Westminster announcement and the introduction of a new lockdown system.

Liverpool was in the highest alert category, level three, and the rest of the country moved to levels one and two.
However, since Lancashire’s placement at level two, MPs and local government leaders in the borough have said that the county could move to level three by the end of the week as coronavirus cases and rates infection continues to increase.
This would mean the closure of pubs, bars, gyms and casinos with current travel restrictions.
Speaking on Monday, Blackburn with Darwen Council Leader Cllr Mohammed Khan said: “Right now the township and the rest of Lancashire are at level two, which means a slight easing of restrictions on households They meet outdoors in the districts under the strictest restrictions.
“There will be a meeting of the Lancashire council leaders tomorrow morning (Tuesday) before further discussions with government advisers later, as a result of which Pennine Lancashire could move to the third level.
“The current restrictions that have been in place since August have not worked as the rate of coronavirus infection has continued to rise. We are concerned that Lancashire will need to be addressed together and that the level of support offered to businesses such as pubs and bars without further restrictions at level three they are not enough.
“If these problems can be solved, I would be happy to see Lancashire move to Level 3.
Rossendale and Darwen Conservative MP Jake Berry said: “It’s good news that East Lancashire is at level two, but we were about to get into level three. If people don’t observe the rules at level two, then we will enter the upper level. We are very close to the limit. ”
