Three men have been arrested in Sweden on suspicion of murdering a man on their doorstep in southwest London last year, police said.
Flamur Beqiri, a Swedish citizen who had a wife and young son, was pronounced dead at the scene. after being shot on Battersea Church Road around 9pm on Christmas Eve.
The 36-year-old was the brother of former Real Housewives Of Cheshire star Misse Beqiri.
Mr. Beqiri and his family had just returned to their home in Battersea when the only attacker attacked.
He had been living in London for four or five years when he was shot and married his wife, Debora Krasniqi, in Italy in October 2018.
The three arrested Swedish nationals, aged 22, 31 and 33, were detained Thursday at addresses in Stockholm and Vaxjo under a European arrest warrant from the United Kingdom, the Metropolitan Police said.
All three will now face extradition proceedings through the Swedish court system.
Swedish kickboxer Anis Fouad Hemissi, 23, was previously charged with Beqiri’s murder and extradited to the UK from Denmark in June.
It is claimed that he flew to the UK four days before the assassination, intending to “execute” Mr. Beqiri in an organized attack before traveling to Copenhagen.
Appearing at the Old Bailey via video link for a guilty plea hearing in August, he denied charges of murder and possession of a prohibited firearm described as a self-loading pistol.
He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on December 1.
