Bradley Walsh broke down in tears on This Morning on Thursday, as he spoke of the plight of families with their loved ones in nursing homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chase host made an appearance on the ITV show via video call and admitted his ‘distress’ after hearing that a mother was unable to see her son affected by Huntington’s disease due to hospital restrictions.
Bradley, 60, generally optimistic, choked on imagining how difficult it would be to have a terminally ill family member in a nursing home, but not be able to visit him physically in his final days.

Visibly excited, he said, ‘It’s hard enough to see your … It’s hard enough, sorry.’ Bradley then paused as tears ran down his face.
He added: “It is hard enough to see your parents leave, but if your son is going to go before you, something needs to be done, it is very disturbing.”
Clearly moved as she sat next to her co-host Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby assured the TV personality, ‘Don’t regret it.’

During a video segment, viewers saw how it was explained that several people have been forced to visit family members only through glass windows or via video calls, since the start of the pandemic earlier this year.
Phillip was also seen struggling to hold back tears as the cameras returned to the London studios where This Morning was filmed.
Bradley’s emotional appearance on the show comes after his earnings were claimed to have increased by £ 2 million, making him the UK’s highest-paid presenter behind Ant and Dec.

Accounts presented by Wingit Productions show that the actor and host has funds valued at around £ 11.5 million, up from £ 9.5 million the previous year.
It comes on the heels of reports that Bradley is lining up to host a revival of the iconic Blankety Blank game show and has signed a big deal to headline the series.
Blankety Blank debuted in 1979 and was hosted by Terry Wogan before Les Dawson took over in 1984, followed by Paul O’Grady as Lily Savage from 1996 to 1997 and again from 2001 to 2002 on ITV.
Drowned: A generally optimistic 60-year-old Bradley was seen drowning in imagining how difficult it would be to not be able to physically visit a loved one in their final days.
In addition to hosting The Chase, Bradley has also starred in the travel series Breaking Dad alongside his son Barney, and recently starred in Doctor Who.
A source told The Sun: ‘Bradley regularly takes internal polls as one of ITV’s most beloved stars. Viewers adore him and he can fall back on virtually any form of broadcast.
“When it comes to taking on a new job, you can basically name your price.”
