A 14-year-old girl died after being hit by a car in Moston.
Emergency services were called to Lightbowne Road Monday morning to receive reports of a hit and run.
The girl suffered serious injuries after being hit by a BMW at around 8.15am and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Police have sadly confirmed that the girl has now died as a result of her injuries.
Kevin Pryce, 45, of Quail Street, Oldham has been charged in connection with the collision.
He faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death without insurance, failure to stop / failure to report a traffic collision, and otherwise driving in accordance with a license.
He has been placed on remand and is due to appear today in Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.
Police say the teenager was crossing the street when she was hit by the vehicle.
The BMW was traveling south on Lightbowne Road at the time of the accident.
The incident triggered a large emergency response, including air ambulances, ground ambulances, rapid response vehicles, and advanced paramedics.
Police recorded Lightbowne Road, as well as nearby Nuthurst Road and Kenyon Lane in Moston for several hours on Monday.
