The Met Office has issued new weather advisories for parts of the UK just days after Storm Alex.
A 12-hour yellow rain warning covers Wales and North West England.
The Met Office says heavy rains are expected in these areas that can cause flooding and travel disruptions.
The warning goes into effect at 9pm tonight and lasts until 9am tomorrow (Thursday).
The Met Office is likely to say flooding in some homes and businesses, and bus and train services are likely to be affected due to longer travel times.
Spraying and flooding on the roads will likely make travel times longer, the forecaster added.
It comes after Storm Alex caused a disaster in many parts of Britain over the weekend.
But revelers braved the pouring rain to fill the streets in front of bars and pubs with current busy coronavirus hot spots Newcastle, Bolton and Liverpool.
The streets of London, Leeds and Manchester were also heavily populated after the stores closed at 10pm.
The rain didn’t stop the young revelers from huddling, many gathered under umbrellas and took refuge at bus stops to try to stay dry.
Some covered their heads with their jackets to try to avoid getting soaked as the incessant rain hit the UK.
And the miserable weather looks set to continue, as Met Office forecaster Alex Deakin said the rest of the week will be characterized by “more heavy rain … and always on the cool side,” adding that nighttime temperatures could drop as low as 6 ° C.
Before tonight, Wednesday will also be largely “fine and dry,” Deakin added, noting temperatures as high as 17 ° C in the southeast.
Referring to the area of rain moving tonight, he said: “It could be quite heavy in some places and after such a wet period over the weekend we need to observe this area of rain.”
“This low pressure zone, because that’s what it is, coming in and out for the first part of Thursday.
“Some uncertainty about how far it goes north and clears up quickly, but it’s only replaced by another area of low pressure: more weather fronts, lots of rain through Friday and Saturday.”
Dozens of flood warnings were also issued in England and Wales amid the weather advisory.
