Lucas Torreira and Thomas Partey swapped roles between Arsenal and Atlético de Madrid on a frenzied deadline.
Partey left Atletico Madrid in north London after the Gunners activated their release clause on the last day of the transfer window.
Uruguayan midfielder Torreira has headed the other way to join Diego Simeone after falling out of favor with Mikel Arteta.
Torreira has now tackled his latest move after heading to Uruguay for international duty.
And he has sent a message to Partey: he wishes him well as he takes his place in the Arsenal team and tells him to expect a club that will treat him well.
Speaking to the press at the Carrasco International Airport, on the outskirts of Montevideo, Torreira wished Partey “the best” at Arsenal.
“There he will find a club where they treated me very well and that is the most important thing,” he said, through Mundo Deportivo.
Regarding his signing for Atlético, he added: “I’m happy. The truth is that after a bit of suffering because it happened in the last hours for the transfer period to end, but the important thing is that the signing was given.”
“Today I am a new Atlético de Madrid player. I am super happy.”

The 24-year-old has explained that he spent a lot of time “doing the medical examination, doing a lot of paperwork” and waiting for an agreement to be reached between Arsenal and Atlético.
“That took a long time, but as I said before, everything went very well and I was able to sign.”
Matteo Guendouzi also left Arsenal at the deadline and joined Hertha Berlin on loan.
But Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta highlighted his confidence that Partey can make a big impact in the midfield by advancing.
“We have been watching Thomas for a while now, so now we are delighted to add such a high quality player to our team,” said Arteta.
“He is a dynamic midfielder with a lot of energy. He brings a lot of experience from a first-rate club that has competed at the highest level in La Liga and the Champions League for several years.
“We are very impressed with his attitude and approach to the game. He is a smart footballer and we are looking forward to him integrating himself into our system and contributing to the progress we are making at the moment at the club.”
