Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been told to sign Stoke City’s Jack Butland to replace Adrian with a former England number one.
Adrian performed poorly against Aston Villa on Sunday, playing a missed pass in the fourth minute to allow forward Ollie Watkins to give the underdog the lead.
The Spanish goalkeeper conceded six more goals in the match, making it Klopp’s biggest loss as a coach.

Adrian is currently in the first team following an injury to number one Alisson, who could be out until the end of November.
Following the 7-2 humiliationFormer England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has told Liverpool to sign goalkeeper Butland, who is not in Stoke’s favor.
Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson said: “If Alisson is going to be out for that long, Liverpool will have to watch him.
“As long as the domestic window is still open, we can see Liverpool doing some business. There are many good goalkeepers who are not playing football right now.
“I can see Liverpool signing players like Jack Butland on a short-term contract. They need someone like that. A gamer who has the experience of handling great games. Someone of that ilk. “
The domestic transfer window is open through Friday, October 16, which means the Reds have more than a week to scout potential goalkeepers.
Butland could be the best option for Klopp given his current situation in Stoke. The 27-year-old has declared his intention to leave the club when his contract expires next summer, which has reduced his first team’s chances.
Butland is a decent plug with experience in both the Premier League and internationally. He has appeared in the Prem 77 times with his current club and has nine appearances for England.
A potential obstacle for Liverpool would be the interest of other clubs. Southampton has been linked to a swap deal for Butland, which would involve Angus Gunn moving north.
