A couple was the target of a fierce attack by a gang of thugs on the platform of a train station.
The attack took place when a group left a train at Brunswick station after traveling from Southport, police said today.
Two men in the group argued with a man who was with his girlfriend at the station, and then followed him to the platform.
They then kicked and kicked the man before his girlfriend tried to stop them. They then pushed her to the ground where they also kicked her.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police (BTP) said: “Fortunately, the man and woman were not seriously injured.
“Officers believe that the men in the CCTV footage may have information that could aid their investigation.”
The alleged incident took place at 8:45 p.m. on Friday, July 17.
