THIS is the shocking moment when kart driver Luca Corberi throws his bumper at an opponent mid-race during a staggering collapse that has caused him to be asked to be banned for life.
Corberi, 23, from Italy, also started a pit fight with Paolo Ippolito, and it was all caught on camera.
His disgusting acts have prompted former F1 world champion Jenson Button to demand that he be suspended for life.
Corberi’s anger skyrocketed during a race of the FIA Karting World Championship.
He was forced to retire nine laps in the 23-lap KZ Final race after a collision with Ippolito.
Rather than withdraw from the Lonato track, which was believed to have been built and still owned by his family, Corberi intentionally waited for Ippolito to return.
He then picked up his broken bumper and lunged at his compatriot, who apparently avoided injury.
But that was not all.
Later, cameras caught Corberi, who used to race current F1 star Lance Stroll, attacking what was apparently Ippolito in the pits after the race.
He is seen running full speed towards his rival, knocking him down and then throwing punches.
Then other runners and pit lane workers rush to try to defuse the scrap.
Button has now asked CIK-FIA Karting President Felipe Mass to take action.
He tweeted: “Luca Corberi just destroyed any chance he had in a race after his disgusting behavior today at the FIA Karting World Championship.
“His father owns the circuit and you see that the power pushes the guy against a wall. Ban for life for these two idiots, please.”
Apart from the violence, the French Jeremy Iglesias was crowned world champion after beating the Dutch driver Marijn Kremers.
