Gary Neville was feeling a bit touchy after Tottenham’s 6-1 thrashing of their beloved Manchester United, but seemed buoyed by Liverpool’s 7-2 win by Jamie Carragher.
Another bizarre game day of the 2020-21 Premier League season saw its most successful team, United, for the first time humiliated by former coach José Mourinho, before Aston Villa rampaged against the champions hours later.
Covering the games were the mainstays of Sky, Neville and Carragher, who poked fun at each other’s miserable work days on Twitter.

It took a turn as Neville had reason to smile later, taunting Sky Sports colleague Jamie Carragher as he worked as a commentator on Liverpool’s 7-2 humiliation of Aston Villa.
Liverpool took the toughest loss of the weekend by being stunned at Villa Park.
The former right-back kicked things off by tweeting a photo of himself sipping a glass of red wine with an overly cocky expression.
Comments were quick to point out Neville’s ‘shamelessness’ before adding another photo, this time posing below a picture of his colleague analyzing the Liverpool disaster on television.
The former red later replied, ‘I’ll feel better tomorrow when you sign Cavani,’ along with laughter and palm emojis.

Carragher was less than impressed by Neville’s taunts and therefore attempted United transfers.
Neville is unsure of United’s plans to sign Edinson Cavani from PSG, comparing the transfer to his late signing of Radamel Falcao in the failure of 2014 and later.
The United legend believes the move was ‘not in the plan’ and called the team ‘weak’ for their collapse against Spurs after dropping to 10 men following the removal of Anthony Martial.
Carragher was equally baffled by the Reds’ collapse, calling it “possibly one of the worst defensive displays I’ve seen” in the comments.
