Adrian will make his first Premier League start to the season for Liverpool tonight with Alisson Becker facing a spell on the sidelines.
Alisson did not travel with the Reds team for the game at Aston Villa after sustaining a shoulder injury during training.
Adrian’s selection in goal is one of two changes from the team that beat Arsenal 3-1 at home in Liverpool’s last outing in the Premier League on Monday.
With Sadio Mane joining Thiago Alcantara testing positive for coronavirus this week, new signing Diogo Jota makes his first top flight outing for the club on the left wing.
Rumors about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s fitness were unfounded with the right back lining up alongside Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson on defense.
Fabinho, Gini Wijaldum and Naby Keita make up midfield, with Mohamed Salah one of three starters to start Thursday’s Carabao Cup loss to Arsenal, and Roberto Firmino joining Jota up front.
Young Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is among the substitutes, with captain Jordan Henderson also on the bench.
At Aston Villa, former Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, on loan from Chelsea, is in the starting lineup.
