A 15-year-old boy died after falling from a multi-story parking lot.
Emergency services were called to Hanover Street at 8.25 p.m. last night after a man was reported to have fallen from the roof of a parking lot in the area.
Today police have said that the child who fell died shortly afterwards despite the efforts of emergency workers at the scene.
His family was informed, although the boy has not yet been formally identified. The death is not believed to be suspicious and a file was sent to the coroner.
Hanover Street was closed last night while emergency services attended.
A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that a 15-year-old boy from Liverpool has died after falling out of a car park on Hanover Street in Liverpool city center last night (Saturday 3 October).
“Emergency services were called to a parking lot on Hanover Street at 8.25pm after a man was reported to have fallen from the parking lot, but sadly, despite his best efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
“The death is not believed to be suspicious and a file was sent to the coroner.
“The closest family members have been spoken to and specialized officers are supporting the family at this tragic time. Formal identification has yet to take place.”
