Arsenal have been advised to forget about signing Houssem Aouar, as Thomas Partey is the kind of addition they need, according to former Liverpool and England star John Barnes.
The Gunners are still looking for a central midfielder ahead of Monday night’s transfer deadline as they have been linked with the stars of Lyon and Atletico Madrid all summer.
However, the pair are significantly different players, with Aouar possessing excellent creativity and style, while Partey would add value and steel in front of defense.
And Barnes has stated that it is the latter that Mikel Arteta’s side requires as he believes his attack is not something he needs to worry about.
“If I were Arsenal or Mikel Arteta, I wouldn’t be worried about Houssem Aouar, I’d be looking at my defense,” he told BonusBetCodes.
“Arsenal need more defenders and quality. It is not in the attack where they need to strengthen, their attackers are good.
