President Donald Trump is reportedly having trouble breathing and is severely fatigued, a senior White House official said.
The US President’s condition reportedly appears to be worsening as he spends his first night in the hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.
CNN reported that an official said there are “reasons for concern” about his health and that the situation is “dire.”
But the aide also assured the public that they should not be alarmed and said Trump is taking the situation “very seriously.”
ABC also reported that Trump has a fever, chills, congestion and a cough.
Just hours earlier, the White House tried to project an air of business as usual despite Trump’s diagnosis, but his advisers privately expressed concern about the presidential election and showed signs of growing concern about the coronavirus.

The 74-year-old Trump flew by helicopter to Walter Reed Medical Center for treatment Friday night, but staff members said he would continue to work from a special suite there and had remained involved in the government throughout the day. .
He has not transferred power to Vice President Mike Pence.
In a video statement posted to his Twitter account shortly after his departure, President Trump said: “I want to thank everyone for your tremendous support. I am going to Walter Reed Hospital. I think I am doing very well, but no. We will make sure that everything goes well. The First Lady is doing very well.
“So thank you very much. I appreciate it. I will never forget it. Thank you.”

The president was diagnosed with Covid-19 early Friday morning and has been suffering from “mild symptoms,” including cold-like symptoms, fatigue and a mild fever, according to authorities.
Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said: “President Trump remains in a good mood, has mild symptoms and has been working all day.
“Out of great caution, and on the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the President will work from the presidential offices in Walter Reed for the next few days.
“President Trump appreciates the large amount of support for both him and the First Lady.”
After Marine One sat waiting on the South Lawn of the White House for more than an hour, President Trump emerged into the helicopter in a suit and mask.
He saluted and gave the reporters a thumbs-up, but didn’t stop to speak. He was accompanied by White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who was also wearing a mask.
He greeted a waiting Marine before boarding the helicopter, and hit the railing as he climbed the steps.
Eric, President Trump’s son, tweeted: “Donald Trump is a true warrior.
“He will fight for this with the same strength and conviction that he uses to fight for America every day.
“I ask that you join me in praying for their recovery. I have never been more proud of someone and what they have endured.”
Earlier, the president’s physician, Navy Commander Sean P Conley, said in a statement: “Following PCR confirmation of the president’s diagnosis, as a precautionary measure, he received a single 8-gram dose of Regeneron’s polyclonal antibody cocktail. He completed the infusion without incident.
“In addition to the polyclonal antibodies, the president has been taking zinc, vitamin D, famotidine, and a daily aspirin.”
He added: “As of this afternoon, the president remains fatigued but in good spirits. He is being evaluated by a team of experts and together we will make recommendations to the president and the first lady.
“First Lady Melania Trump is still healthy with only a mild cough and headache, and the rest of the First Family is doing well and tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 today.”
The President of the United States, who is in a high-risk category due to his age and because he is considered overweight, tweeted early Friday: “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19.
“We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through it TOGETHER!”

The president’s upcoming election events were postponed or moved online.
Trump was scheduled to hold a “Make America Great Again” rally in Florida on Friday night, two in Wisconsin on Saturday and one in Arizona on Monday.
On Friday, seeing more White House personnel in masks than usual, including Press Secretary McEnany at night, was taken as a sign that coronavirus risks were being taken more seriously.
Communications Advisor Hope Hicks and First Lady Melania Trump also tested positive.
Some in Washington speculated that Trump’s events on Saturday to announce Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court could have spread the virus.
In addition to Trump and his wife, aides Ronna McDaniel, Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Lee, a Republican Senator, and University of Notre Dame President the Rev. John Jenkins all tested positive for the coronavirus.
