Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said Jadon Sancho will not join Manchester United before the transfer window ends on Monday.
Sancho was manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s number one transfer target at the start of the summer.
Dortmund turned down his latest offer earlier this week, having set August 10 as the deadline to close a deal.
“Everything that needs to be said about this matter on our part has already been said,” Zorc said Friday.
“And that won’t change for the next three days.”
It remains to be seen if United have one last attempt to change that stance.
However, as Sancho has three years left on his contract and has indicated his willingness to stay in Germany for one more season before moving to United, which has already agreed on salary and agent fees, Dortmund are clearly in a position strong.
United sources have told the BBC that they are relaxed about the situation and that there is no sense of panic in the club despite mounting external pressure.
Former club captains Gary Neville and Patrice Evra have voiced their frustrations with United’s transfer policy.
They are understood to maintain an interest in Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembélé, but club sources have downplayed speculation linking the club to Sevilla player Lucas Ocampos.
Barcelona sports director Ramon Planes has said that French striker Dembélé will not leave the Camp Nou.
“There are no negotiations with Manchester United,” he said. “He is a player we have.”

Speaking earlier on Friday Solskjaer was asked about the likelihood of more players coming to the club before Monday’s deadline at 23:00 BST.
