Player ratings as the city suffers a collective collapse
Ederson: Hard to miss in her bright pink T-shirt and she made sure her presence extended beyond the box. He couldn’t do anything with Vardy’s penalties or improvisation. 5
Walker: His pace had been important in quelling Leicester’s counterattack, but there was no defense of his foul on Vardy in the area to allow Leicester to level the score. It was a shame that no teammate bet on any of his balls in the area. 5
Garcia: The best defender of City. He took on the responsibility of organizing the baseline despite being younger than Ake in years, and he also made important interceptions to deny Barnes and Justin when the defense was exposed. He took the second penalty, albeit one well earned by the canny Vardy. He took a step toward Maddison’s goal. 6
Ake: His side with Mendy was regularly attacked and Castagne had too much time and space for the second goal. However, a good header to comfort a man who is not the tallest defender. 5
Mendy: Leicester targeted Mendy and was rewarded with opportunities. It’s not easy to deal with the pace of Barnes and Vardy, but Mendy’s decision-making could still have been better and he failed to move forward in the future. 3
