A retiree died after being trampled by cows in Northumberland.
The victim, Malcolm Flynn, 72, was walking when the “shocking and tragic” scenes occurred.
The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. on Friday, September 11, near Thirlwall Castle and Gisland, while Flynn was walking.
Police received a report that a man had been seriously injured after being charged by cows.
Officers and emergency services attended but, sadly, Mr. Flynn de Carlisle was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family continues to have the support of specialist agents at this time.
Northumbria Police are investigating his tragic death and have filed an appeal for witnesses.
“My thoughts are with Malcolm’s family and friends at this time as they come to terms with the loss of a loved one in what was a shocking and tragic incident,” said Chief Detective Inspector Jane Fairlamb of the Homicide and Senior Investigation Team. of the strength.

“If you were near Thirlwall Castle, Gisland or Walltown Country Park on September 11, we would be interested to hear from you, especially if you saw Malcolm, who is described as a 70-year-old white male.
“He was wearing glasses and a sun hat, a fleece-covered T-shirt and a telescopic baton walking with another man who was wearing walking boots, shorts and a fleece.”
Officers are interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, but have posted the following descriptions of various individuals that they hope can provide specific information.
– A white man with gray hair and a gray beard walking a dog is believed to have passed the man and his friend shortly before the incident near a sign on the trail.
– A man and a woman, believed to be in their forties, who spoke to the couple before entering the field.
– A group of four walkers who spoke to Malcolm’s walking partner immediately after the incident and offered to alert the farmer, as well as another male who entered the field in an attempt to divert animals from the scene. It is believed that he also left a fleece.
