Scotland to face new lockdown restrictions in a few days
Too unpredictable to commit to a regular exam diet
When asked by BBC Scotland if exams could be interrupted again this academic year, Sturgeon says it is simply too unpredictable.
She says: “We want the exam diet to continue as normal or as close to normal as possible next year.

Prime Minister: ‘Covid is spreading again in Scotland’

Prof Whitty: ‘Significant transmission rates’ of coronavirus in parts of the UK
Medical director Professor Chris Whitty told a news conference that there are now “significant transmission rates” of the coronavirus in parts of the UK.
Referring to a presentation slide looking at the growth of Covid-19 outbreaks, he said: “What we have seen is a progression where, after notable efforts that lowered rates across the country, we first saw very small, perhaps associated with a workplace or other environment, then we have seen more localized outbreaks that have grown larger over time, particularly in cities.
“And now what we are seeing is a rate of increase in the vast majority of the country.
“It goes at different rates, but now it is increasing.
“And what we’ve found is that as we go forward in time, whatever place that was falling is now moving to start going up and then the rate of increase continues in an upward direction.
“So this is not someone else’s problem, this is our whole problem.”
