Manchester United Players Ranking: Victor Lindelof poor but Donny van de Beek good vs Crystal Palace – Samuel Luckhurst

[ad_1]

David De Gea

His early wandering pass set the tone for a lousy United half, but he managed a great save from Jordan Ayew. He saved a penalty but sanctioned pathetically and beat at the restart. 6

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Officially the second-choice right-back, but Fosu-Mensah started tentatively before creating his first real shot for Mason Greenwood. 5

Victor lindelof

So slow and weak it made it easy for Jeffrey Schlupp to cross for Andros Townsend to score. Unlucky to have conceded a penalty, but weak again from Wilfried Zaha’s shot. two

Harry maguire

Another moderate performance by the United captain and his immobility fell prey to the Palace forwards. 5

Luke shaw

He fell asleep to Townsend’s goal and his productivity in the final third was not good enough. 4

Scott McTominay

He got the nod ahead of Donny van de Beek and had some courage over him without affecting the game. Looks fit, at least. 5

Paul pogba

He did not look completely fit and at times he carelessly relinquished possession. It is no wonder that he was replaced by Van de Beek shortly after the hour. 4

Daniel james

Unsurprisingly, he played poorly on the right, having thrived on the left at Aston Villa last week and was replaced at halftime by Mason Greenwood. 3

Marcus rashford

He could easily have made way for Greenwood at halftime and barely improved after the break. Lucky to have played the game. 4

Bruno fernandes

After nonstop club and international football and a new baby, he looked surprisingly wrecked. He is not his usual self and he runs the risk of exhaustion. 4

Anthony Martial

He was often isolated with Rashford and Fernandes outside of the races. Much more threatening with Greenwood on the field. 5

Subs

Mason Greenwood

United improved, but should have scored with a center from Fosu-Mensah at 0-1. 6

Donny van de Beek

He scored to make it 2-1. It should have started. 7

Odion ighalo

No impact. 4

Manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

They obviously got seriously wrong on some dubious picks that he acknowledged by retiring James in the interval. His changes had a positive impact, but damage had been done. 3
