1. Oxford University will resume vaccine trial after hiatus

Trials of a Covid-19 vaccine being developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford will resume after a hiatus due to a reported side effect in a patient in the UK. Health Secretary Matt Hancock welcomed the news. Meanwhile, who will get vaccinated first?

2. ‘Working from home’ is a long-term ambition

Almost a third of people in Wales should be working at or near home, even as coronavirus restrictions have been eased, the Government of Wales has said. The measure could reduce congestion and pollution and improve work-life balance, the ministers suggested. If you have to go back to the office, find out what your boss needs to do to keep you safe.

3. Forecast of the ‘divorce boom’ as the blockade increases counseling consultations

The coronavirus pandemic is creating “enormous strain” on relationships, a counseling charity warned, with family lawyers predicting a “post-lockdown divorce boom.” Citizens Advice said views on its divorce website the first weekend in September were up 25% compared to the same date in 2019.

4. Subdued Proms wraps up after Rule, Britannia! row

A shortened version of the BBC Symphony Orchestra played an empty Royal Albert Hall on Saturday for The Last Night of the Proms. The 2020 season of Proms was drastically shortened by the coronavirus epidemic, with the usual six-week season reduced to fifteen days of live shows, performed without an audience.

5. Virtual Great North Run in 57 countries

Although the official Great North Run event had to be canceled this year, nearly 17,000 people will participate in virtually 57 countries and six continents, organizers said.
