Mason Greenwood has been filmed inhaling hippy crack before his antics in England sent him home from Iceland in disgrace.
The Manchester United striker has issued a statement urging others not to follow suit after learning of the health risks associated with laughing gas.
A video captured by a friend and posted on Snapchat a few weeks ago shows Greenwood filling a balloon with nitrous oxide before inhaling, according to The Sun.
A source told the newspaper: “I should know better since he is an elite athlete. He has been a bit foolish to do it, and especially to allow it to be videotaped.”
“A lot of people in Manchester do it at parties, many are Mason’s age.”

In response to the video, Greenwood said in a statement issued via United: “I have now learned of the health risks associated with this practice, and I accept that even trying, as shown in these historic images, was poor judgment. from my part. .
“I strongly urge others not to follow my example.
“At 18 I’m learning all the time. However, this week I also learned that I will be judged to a higher standard because of my career, and I must respect that going forward.
“I am determined to restore the faith that my coach and my coaches have shown in me.”
Greenwood was recently sent home from international service alongside Manchester City’s Phil Foden following England’s victory over Iceland, in which they both debuted.
The duo broke quarantine protocols by inviting two women to return to their hotel room, and the Icelandic police fined them £ 1,360 each.
Commenting on the incident, former Man United forward Dimitar Berbatov said Mirror Soccer he hopes it doesn’t affect Greenwood’s chances at Old Trafford.
“I hope his antics with England don’t hamper his chances [of Man United selection]. We have all been young players and we have done stupid things, ”he said.
