Flood alerts and warnings were issued for Scotland this weekend

They advised making sure you’ve registered with Floodline and being prepared to take steps to protect your properties.

Mark Franklin, SEPA Duty Flood Manager, said: “With another rainy weekend forecast for much of Scotland, SEPA has issued ten regional flood alerts.

“Persistent and occasionally heavy rains will bring a gradual build-up of surface water and a rise in river levels overnight on Saturday and Sunday in many parts of the northern, western and central highlands.

“This is likely to cause localized flooding of land and roads, as well as some transportation disruptions.”

“Parts of Argyll, Easter Ross and Lochaber could experience flooding affecting communities and disruption of infrastructure due to heavier rains, and people who live, work and travel in these areas are advised to ensure that have signed up for Floodline and are prepared to take steps to protect property.
