India has reported nearly 100,000 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, a record jump for the country for the second day in a row.
The latest number of new COVID-19 infections bring the total there to more than 4.65 million.

Government officials and experts have claimed that the increases in Maharashtra and elsewhere in the country are likely due to the restart of the economy, local festivals and closure fatigue.
