Gary Neville has responded to Jamie Carragher by noting that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not in the running for coach of the year last season.
Neville and Carragher made an appearance on Sky Sports’ Premier League preview show, where viewers were asked to vote on the best boss of the 2019/20 campaign.
Solskjaer was not on the short list, prompting Carragher to announce: “I can’t see where Ole is. [Neville] telling me he did a good job. “
Neville admitted that Jurgen Klopp was deservedly named coach of the season, but added that Solskjaer impressed throughout the course of the campaign, with Manchester United qualifying for the Champions League.

The former Red Devils right-back replied: “Ole might have reason to be there, to take them to third place in the league.
“I think at one point, when you think about where they were at Christmas, they were absolutely finished, it seemed like I was under enormous pressure.
“The change at the end of the year, finishing third, you could argue that he could get into that.
“I think Jurgen Klopp was the best coach. I don’t think it was just for last season, it’s about what he has done in the last four years in terms of growing a team and rebuilding a club, bringing them to a point at the they produce incredible performances.
“Champions League Finalists, Champions League Winner, Premier League Winner”.
