A school in Ealing has told all of its Year 1 classes to self-isolate after a student tested positive for coronavirus.
Horsenden Primary School, in Horsenden Lane North, Greenford, confirmed to parents and caregivers on Thursday (10 September) that a child in Year 1 tested positive for Covid-19.
After speaking with Public Health England (PHE), the school asked all Year 1 children to isolate themselves until Wednesday 23 September.
MyLondon understands that there are four Year 1 classes at the school, with around 120 children in the year group.
It is also understood that the child was in school on Monday (September 7) and Tuesday (September 8), but not on Wednesday (September 9). The boy received the positive test on Thursday.

A letter sent to the parents and carers of Year 1 pupils reads: “Public Health England has informed us that there has been a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the Year 1 bubble.
“Earlier [on Thursday] We informed the class and asked them to begin the self-isolation process as a precautionary measure. We have since conducted a more detailed risk assessment and Public Health England has recommended that we ask all Year 1 classes to self-isolate for 14 days.
“According to the national guide, we recommend that your child stay home and isolate himself until Wednesday, September 23.
“We ask that you do this to reduce the spread of Covid-19 to other members of the community.
“If your child is doing well at the end of the 14-day period of self-isolation, then he can go back to his usual activities.
“Other members of your household can continue their normal activities as long as your child does not develop symptoms within the 14-day self-isolation period.”
Horsenden Elementary School is just one of several schools that have tested positive for coronavirus on staff or children since they returned for the new academic year.
Since the reopening, schools in Bromley, Croydon, Hounslow, Sydenham and Wandsworth have had at least one positive Covid-19 test.
