Once again raising money for UNICEF to help support underprivileged children in more than 190 countries, tonight’s (6 September) charity game at Old Trafford saw a host of new celebrities and former footballers debut in Soccer. Aid.

Mo Gilligan, I am a celebrityandJoel Dommett, Island of loveIain Stirling and Santan Dave were among the famous faces who participated in the event for the first time, as were former professionals Kelly Smith MBE, Patrice Evra and David James.

Meanwhile, the likes of Wes Brown, Olly Murs, Kem Cetinay, Joe Wicks and Lee Mack returned to the charity event.

Dermot O’Leary and Kirsty Gallagher presented the procedures from the field side, with Maya Jama, Omid Djalili and Alex Scott as invited experts.

Once again, it was a hotly contested match this year, with Robbie Keane leading FILA XI in the second half, only for YouTuber Yung Filly to immediately tie for England.

In the end, it was fellow YouTuber Chunkz who cost England the match, landing his penalty just outside the goal. Lee Mack didn’t help either, as he disappeared from the scene for the second year in a row.

More importantly, however, tonight’s game helped raise £ 11,552,577 for UNICEF, making it the most successful Soccer Aid ever.
