West Ham captain Mark Noble has beaten the club after they sold Grady Diangana to West Brom.

The young midfielder spent last season on loan to the Baggies while helping them secure promotion to the top flight.

And the new guys in the Premier League have now secured their services permanently, which has angered Noble.

He tweeted: “As the captain of this soccer club I am heartbroken, angry and sad that Grady is gone, great boy with a great future !!!!!”

Diangana made 31 appearances for West Brom, scoring eight times.

West Ham, however, has defended its decision to sell the promising 22-year-old as they look to build with David Moyes.

They said: “The decision to sell Grady has been made reluctantly but ultimately in the best interest of the Club and with the aim of strengthening the roster in different areas at this time.

“The money received by Grady will be fully reinvested in the team in accordance with the manager’s goals.

“We believe this will give us the best possible opportunity to ensure we have a balanced squad to compete in the Premier League and capable of achieving our goals and ambitions this season.”

Grady Diangana was hugely impressive in West Brom

However, Diangana, despite her quality, would have faced a lot of competition for a spot at the London stadium.

Moyes has the likes of Felipe Anderson, Michail Antonio, Pablo Fornals, Robert Snodgrass and Andriy Yarmolenko to choose from in wide areas.

The first of these has been linked to a change to Arsenal, as Moyes was looking to shape his team.

The Scotsman is in his second spell as West Ham boss, but has never enjoyed the benefit of a summer transfer window.
