The Duke and Duchess of Sussex struck a deal with streaming giant Netflix to create a variety of shows, some of which may appear.

“Our focus will be on creating content that is informative but also hopeful,” said Prince Harry and his wife Meghan.

“As new parents, inspiring family programming is important to us too,” they continued.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said he was “incredibly proud” that the royal couple had made the company “their creative home.”

The multi-year agreement will cover documentaries, documentary series, feature films, scripted programs and children’s programming.

It’s about six months after the couple left real life and moved to California to live away from the media spotlight.

“Our lives, both independent of each other and as a couple, have enabled us to understand the power of the human spirit: courage, resilience and the need for connection,” the couple said in a statement.

“Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shed light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.

“As new parents, inspiring family programming is important to us as well, as is telling powerful stories through an easy-to-identify and truthful lens.”

Both said they were “pleased to be working with Netflix, and said its” unprecedented reach “would” help us share compelling content that unlocks the action. “

Sarandos said Netflix was “excited to tell stories” with the couple “that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere.”

According to Deadline, projects already in development include “a documentary series of an innovative nature and an animated series celebrating inspiring women.”

The royal couple will make their shows for Netflix under the banner of an as-yet-unidentified production company.

The Duke of Sussex can currently be seen on the streaming service in Rising Phoenix, a documentary about the Paralympic Games.

Meghan previously partnered with Disney to narrate Elephant, a documentary about the species for her Disneynature outing.

This week’s announcement follows the recent publication of Finding Freedom, a book about the couple’s life in the Royal Family.

A spokesman for the Sussexes said they had not been interviewed for the book, which describes a culture of growing tension between the Sussexes and other members of the family.
