A man is seriously ill in hospital after a triple stabbing in a Stockport forest.
Three people were injured during the broad daylight attack, which occurred at a popular dog-walking spot in the suburb of Offerton.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers were called to a wooded area in front of The Fairway in Offerton, following reports of a stabbing shortly after 4.30pm on Tuesday (September 1).
Investigations have established that a group of people was involved in an altercation, says GMP. It happened near Castle Hill High School, with a large number of police vehicles parked outside the school until late at night.
A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in critical condition after the altercation unfolded Tuesday afternoon.
A 21-year-old man who suffered serious injuries also remains in the hospital in stable condition.

Police say a 16-year-old boy was also taken to hospital with minor injuries, but has since been released.
Two people have been arrested.
These are a 16-year-old, arrested on suspicion of assault under Section 18, and a 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
Both remain in custody and must be questioned.
Police have intensified patrols in the area in the wake of the attack.
Superintendent Leon Jacobs is calling any witnesses with information about the stabbing to urgently contact the police.
“Three people have been taken to hospital as a result of these stabbings, and one man is in critical condition,” he said.
“I would like to emphasize to the community that this type of violent behavior will not be tolerated and although we currently have two people in custody, our investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances behind this incident.
“Residents will see an increased police presence in the area as detectives carry out their investigations. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to our officers.
“This forest is a popular place for dog walkers and this incident happened in broad daylight, so I am sure there may be several witnesses who have valuable information.
“I urge anyone in the area at the time who has seen or heard something suspicious to contact the police urgently. Your information could be crucial in helping us complete our inquiries.”
