The POLICE looking for a missing 15-year-old girl found a body.
Seesha Dack had not been seen since around 7 p.m. Sunday near Fish Quay in North Shields.
Police believe the body of a woman found tonight near Tanners Bank is Seesha’s.
Northumbria Police Superintendent Barrie Joisce said: “This is an extremely sad conclusion to an extensive investigation.
“Specialist officers are currently supporting Seesha’s family during this incredibly difficult time and our thoughts are with them.
“I want to thank everyone who assisted in our search by sharing our appeals, searching the area, and those who have phoned us with possible sightings.
TRAGIC DISCOVERY
“We will continue to carry out investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, but at this stage we do not believe that there will be third party involvement.”
Seesha had spent about two hours with friends before they got home safely.
A large search was launched for the “at risk” teenager, whose phone was turned off.
Police were seen earlier today cruising the River Tyne as a helicopter accidentally circled.
Seesha’s mother, Victoria Dack, 33, had asked for help getting her “baby home safely.”
She said: “Seesha is a confident, outgoing, happy and bubbly girl. She means the world to us.
“We just want your house to be safe. I call her my girl. If you are reading this, I want to let you know that I love and miss her.
“You’re not in any trouble, I just want you to be home.”
Seesha’s disappearance was described as “out of place”.
She was last seen in black leggings and a khaki green jacket.
Before today’s heartbreaking discovery, Northumbria Police Superintendent Craig Metcalfe said officers have been combing the local area and conducting extensive investigations while searching for Seesha.
A report will be prepared for the coroner after formal identification.
