Lionel Messi’s father Jorge will meet with Barcelona manager Josep Bartomeu on Wednesday in an attempt to defuse tensions between his son and the club ahead of a potentially monumental transfer to Manchester City.
Messi told the club’s officials last week that he planned to leave the club after 17 years of service.
The Argentine is said to be interested in moving to Manchester City, who also wants to try and finance the big deal.
Messi refused to attend the coronavirus tests at Barça’s training ground on Sunday and did not show up for training on Monday morning.

“Of all the teams that have been suggested, I think Manchester City would be a good fit.
“Another would be PSG, but we will have to wait, and wherever he goes he will be happy and have peace.”
