Shots were fired at the kitchen window of a home in Bootle last night, prompting a major police investigation.
Witnesses reported hearing loud screaming and banging shortly after 9:30 pm on Wolfenden Avenue on Southport Road.
A witness told ECHO: “Last night there was a bang at 9:30, from behind, and my partner said he heard screaming.”
Merseyside Police say witnesses reported hearing an electric bicycle around the time of the shooting.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “At approximately 9.37pm a report was received that shots had been fired at a house on Wolfenden Avenue.
“Officers attended and found damage to the kitchen window of the house, which coincided with a firearm discharge. No one was injured during the incident.
“Crime scene investigators have conducted forensic examinations at the scene and house-to-house investigations are underway. High-visibility patrols in the area have intensified.”

Detective Inspector Mike Dalton said: “An investigation is under way into all the circumstances of the incident. I would appeal to anyone who has seen someone acting suspiciously in the area around Wolfenden Road shortly before or after the incident to be contact us.
“The information they have could be vital.
“An electric bike was heard in the area around the time of the incident, if you saw the bike and the rider, or if you were the person riding an electric bike in the area and you saw something that could help us with our inquiries, please contact us . “
